Supporting Maths in the Primary Classroom

Participants will explore a range of evidence‑based strategies and targeted interventions, including:

  • Approaches to supporting core maths skills, including number sense, calculation, reasoning, and problem‑solving
  • Strategies to prevent and reduce maths anxiety and ‘maths trauma’, helping children build positive attitudes towards learning maths
  • Assessment tools that help identify individual needs and inform intervention planning
  • Whole‑class strategies to support mathematical understanding, promote inclusive practice, and enable all pupils to access learning effectively

Suitable for:

Staff working with children within the primary phase (ages 5–11), including teachers, SENCOs, Inclusion Leads, Teaching Assistants/LSAs, maths leads, and anyone interested in supporting maths development.
