Play and behaviour

Participants will explore a range of evidence-based strategies and targeted interventions, including:

  • Understand how play-based approaches can support emotional regulation, social development, problem-solving, and positive behaviour
  • Gain knowledge and practical strategies to foster positive behaviour through purposeful, structured, and unstructured play opportunities
  • Learn how to weave play into daily classroom practice across all Key Stages—not just in Early Years—to enhance engagement, inclusion, and learning
  • Develop confidence in using play as a proactive strategy to prevent behaviour challenges and promote a supportive, child-centred learning environment

Suitable for:

Anyone interested in understanding the impact of play on children’s development in Primary school and Early Years settings including school leaders, SENCOs, teachers, teaching assistants, SEND practitioners, behaviour leads, and pastoral staff
