Supporting Autistic Learners with Complex Presentations

Participants will explore:

  • A introduction to Autistic Spectrum Condition and developmental needs
  • Using visual structure, visual schedules, task systems, and routines to enhance understanding and independence
  • The importance of visual communication systems, particularly for pre‑verbal or minimally verbal children
  • Understanding and responding to sensory processing needs
  • Key interventions, including Sensory Processing, Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction, to support engagement and communication

Suitable for:

Staff working with children who are developmentally at an EYFS stage, including teachers, SENCOs, Teaching Assistants/LSAs, Inclusion Leads, support staff, and anyone working with autistic children with complex, pre‑verbal, or sensory processing needs.
