Supporting Dyslexia and Literacy Development in the Classroom

Participants will explore a range of evidence-based strategies and targeted interventions, including:

  • The dyslexia pathway and the graduated response
  • Approaches to developing reading, spelling, writing, and handwriting skills
  • An introduction to Colourful Semanticsas a visual and language-based approach to strengthen sentence structure, communication, and literacy
  • Assessment toolsthat help identify individual learning needs and inform precise intervention planning
  • Whole-class strategiesto improve access to learning and support all pupils effectively

Suitable for:

This course is ideal for staff working with children academically functioning within the primary phase (ages 5–11), including class teachers, SENCOs, Inclusion Leads, Teaching Assistants/LSAs, Early Career Teachers, literacy intervention staff, and others with an interest in Dyslexia and inclusive literacy practice.
